Art Exhibition and Colloquium (Jackie Kirk)

The opening event on the evening of 22 October will include a special exhibition of photographs: Bringing the Future Forward: What Can a Girl do With a Camera? A Photographic Tribute to the Memory of Jackie Kirk.  The photographic images in this exhibition and colloquium are all produced by girls and young women in Montreal, Rwanda, Swaziland and South Africa. Their photographs capture images that illustrate the success/vulnerabilities/challenges they face every day.

Public Lecture (Susannah Radstone)

The Back to the Future workshop will begin at 5:30 pm on Wednesday October 22 with a public lecture on Getting over Trauma: New Paradigms in Memory Research by Susannah Radstone, who is an international leader in the area of memory and method, particularly in relation to feminist memory and cultural memory. The venue for the opening event will be: Room 129, Education Faculty, 3700 McTavish Street.
